Gantt Charts, Calendar Views & Schedule Management
Overview
The Scheduling module provides powerful tools for planning and tracking project timelines. Access scheduling features under Project Management in the navigation menu.
Gantt Dashboard
Navigation: Project Management → Gantt Dashboard
Features
- Interactive Gantt Chart: Visual timeline showing tasks, phases, and milestones
- Task Dependencies: Link tasks to show which must complete before others start
- Drag & Drop: Adjust task durations and dates by dragging bars on the timeline
- Critical Path Highlighting: Identifies tasks that directly affect the project end date
- Zoom Controls: View by day, week, month, or quarter
- Save & Export: Save task changes and export schedules for reporting
Creating Tasks in the Gantt View
- Navigate to Project Management → Gantt Dashboard
- Click "+ Add Task" or use the inline task creation row
- Enter task name, start date, end date, and assignee
- Set task priority (Low, Medium, High, Critical)
- Link dependencies by connecting task bars
- Click Save to persist changes

Schedule Calendar
Navigation: Project Management → Schedule Calendar
Features
- Month/Week/Day Views: Toggle between calendar perspectives
- Color-Coded Events: Tasks, milestones, and deadlines shown in distinct colors
- Drag & Drop Rescheduling: Move events to new dates directly on the calendar
- Event Details: Click any event for full details and quick actions
- Filter by Project: View schedule for specific projects or all projects
Using the Calendar
- Navigate to Project Management → Schedule Calendar
- Select your preferred view: Month, Week, or Day
- Click any date to create a new task or event
- Click existing events to view details, edit, or mark complete
- Drag events to reschedule them
Kanban Board
Navigation: Project Management → Kanban Board
Features
- Column-Based Workflow: Tasks organized in columns (To Do, In Progress, Review, Done)
- Drag & Drop Between Columns: Move tasks through workflow stages
- Task Cards: Each card shows priority, assignee, due date, and labels
- Quick Filters: Filter by assignee, priority, or project
- Board Customization: Add or rename columns to match your workflow
Using the Kanban Board
- Navigate to Project Management → Kanban Board
- View tasks organized by status columns
- Drag task cards between columns as work progresses
- Click any card to view full details, add notes, or reassign
- Use the "+ Add Task" button at the top of any column to create new tasks
Tips & Best Practices
- Start with the Gantt Dashboard for initial project scheduling, then use Calendar and Kanban for day-to-day management
- Set dependencies between related tasks to automatically track impacts
- Use priorities consistently so your team knows what to focus on
- Review schedules weekly using the Calendar view for a quick overview
